Racist George Wallace Trump © Jud Burgess

Remember George Wallace?

September 25, 2017

Governor George Wallace.

Avowed and proud racist. Segregationist. Bigot.

Governor of Alabama during the 60s and 70s. *

Donald Trump is his reincarnation.

With a vengeance.

TRUMP and his OBSESSION with OBAMA and his LEGACY

.

Trump wrote his presidential ticket by conducting a years long “birther” campaign to convince Americans that President Barack Obama was not born in the USA. That he just might be a secret Muslim born in Kenya that wants to destroy America. A large percentage of his supporters still cling to this nonsense that was disproved years ago.

Today, Trump is on a one-man mission (with a little help from his friends in the Republican Party) to dismantle as much of Obama’s legacy as he can.

He wants to finish what he started.

Do you really think the GOP’s monthly trainwreck attempts to pass a “Repeal and Replace” healthcare solution are in the best interests of Americans?

No.

They are about political ethnic cleansing. Removal of a black president’s biggest achievement and then some. (Obamacare is nowhere near perfect, in part due to issues between the insurance/healthcare dynamic that is out of control, but miles better than anything proposed by the GOP so far).

Trump’s M.O. is simple. Whatever Obama did while in office, just do the opposite.

Erase his presidential legacy at any cost, regardless of how it affects Americans.

THE CENTRAL PARK 5

.

In 1989, a woman was beaten and raped in Central Park.

Five black teenagers were arrested and sentenced to several years in prison.

Businessman Donald Trump made it his mission to make sure these boys got the death penalty should the woman die.

He ran a full page ad in the NYTimes that cost him $85,000 as part of a campaign to feed a racist frenzy and outrage against these young men.

In 2002, a serial rapist confessed to the crime with DNA evidence proving his guilt…and the innocence of the 5 teenagers after having spent several years in prison.

They were acquitted and set free, eventually receiving compensation for the years they were wrongly incarcerated.

Trump to this day, continues to stoke the rumor that these five men were guilty.

TRUMP vs NFL PLAYERS and their PROTEST

.

Donald Trump has chosen a new black group to target and attempt to create an atmosphere of fear and hatred around.

It all began with ex-San Francisco 49er QB Colin Kaepernick and his refusal to “stand for the national anthem.”

A move Kaepernick intended to establish a national discussion / argument about the tendency of black males to be racially profiled and oftentimes killed without provocation by policemen.

Our president used the very same freedom of speech that he would deny these NFL players to outrageously state, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now’.”

That statement is directed to the vast majority of black NFL players, and by extension any black athletes, because this is not about the superficial ways we are “patriotic”.

It’s about shouting down black men telling them to stay in their place.

The irony is that Trump let the genie out of the bottle and now there is no going back.

Kaepernick’s NFL sacrifice is beginning to pay dividends as a wave of momentum sweeps the NFL from the waterboys to the players to the GMs.

And all Trump can do is just stand there and impotently watch as he once again faces defeat against Black America.

His presidency is about race and his vain attempts to preserve some long lost ideal of “what made America great” during the days when black, brown, yellow, red and rainbow people were told to stay in their place and not get uppity.

It’s not about whether we stand with a hand over our hearts while the national anthem plays or wear a flag pin on our lapels.

It’s about so much more than that.

.

* In Wallace’s last years, he disavowed his racist views publicly and asked forgiveness from American blacks.
