1) defended Duranguito against at least 3 pro-sports arena businessmen who also talked to city leadership. Richard Dayoub, Joe Gudenrath, and some other guy.
2) strongly reminded the City that Judge Meachum has made a legal verdict that prohibits building an arena that allows for large scale sporting events
3) gave much better options for the $200,000,000 once we kill the arena

LIE #1 — 100,000 El Pasoans voted based on a ballot that made no mention of sports of any kind. This was an intentional move by the City to maximize the chances of passing the bond measure by eliminating anything that might threaten passage of the bond…like the word “sports”.

An advertising blitz battle trying to twist the facts about the SPORTS ARENA is coming your way courtesy of the wealthy folks at MountainStar who want OUR tax dollars to fund THEIR sports playground.
Hunts, Fosters, De La Vegas, Scherr, Margo, The Meyers Group, Sanders, O’Rourkes. They all own properties in downtown El Paso and downtown Juárez and want nothing more than over-taxed El Pasoans to cover their risks while they sit back and sip on their Margaritas.
It’s time we stood up individually and together to let them and city leaders know WE’VE HAD ENOUGH.
Many of these same people funded the $500,000 EPISD PACs that used misinformation and outright lies to get us on the hook for the $670,000,000 bond. Look where Cabrera is today with his continual $$$ hangups and Fenenbock quitting on EPISD after only finishing out half her term.
Meanwhile our schools continue to languish, our students suffer and their educators are neglected.
Let’s not let lightning strike twice in the same place.
